Danube Bend: Full-Day Hiking Tour from Budapest

Embark on a full-day, guided hike just outside of Budapest through the Danube Bend, including hotel pickup and drop-off via an air conditioned and comfortable van. A memorable day for lovers of nature and the outdoors awaits. Spend the day in the volcanic Visegradi Hills, where the memory of the old volcano still pervades. The volcano is no longer active, so there remains no danger. The starting point of the hike is at a tiny, romantic village on the coast of the Danube, called Dömös. Begin with the steepest climb of the day while you're still feeling fresh. This is a challenging uphill section, so if you are not in a good physical shape it may be exhausting for you. After the climb, you'll find yourself on a ridge that offers beautiful panoramic views over the river and surrounding mountains. As you look around, check out the huge volcanic rocks that were left behind after the ancient eruption. After a few hundred yards more, climb to Predikaloszek, the summit with some of the best views in Hungary. This place is very famous among locals and visited the whole year through by nature-lovers. Stop for a snack at the lookout and take in the amazing scenery. After refueling, a nice and long downhill trek is waiting for you through a wild and untouched valley. During the descent, observe the power of water; see how it created ravines in the soil of the forest. After the long downhill section on the intimate valley with dense forests we arrive back to the van, jump in and visit the citadel of Visegrad.

The activity is amazing. I felt alive and healthy. The hike was amazing. Lots of trees, birds sounds, peaceful forest. Gyuri was such a lovely person. He guided me all tour, told me and showed me the daily life of animals in the forest, the types of trees and symbols we saw during hiking. The kayaking part was amazing. The view, the activity was worth every penny. Gyuri was always there to help, he is very fun to talk to and he supported me in all activity. This tour is worth the try.

Yolanda made the trip. She was a warm knowleadgable guide who gave so much information and answered all our questions. It was great to see other parts of Hungary than Budapest.

I feel like if the staff / guide explain the landscape will be better. It is not only about enjoying the view but get to know a bit better the city

the most atmospheric boat in Budapest, not a full tourist boat.
