Discover the beauty of Skadar Lake on a sightseeing boat trip. Depart from the pier from the village of Virpazar and find yourself on the open water. Admire the views of the mountain ranges far away in Albania, and Vranjina, the nearest island rising defiantly from the fresh waters of one of the largest lakes in southern Europe. Go left under the nearby bridge and discover Lesendro, an 18th-century fortress. As you approach this beautiful fortification, observe amazing birds dry their wings on top of the fortress's walls. Watch cormorants, gulls, and herons, among many others enjoying the sun touching their feathers. After that, cruise near the river of Morača, an International Birding Area. Depending on the time of year, you will have the privilege to see up to bird species. Have the view melt before your eyes into thousands of white and yellow water lilies hidden behind the three islets. If you are lucky enough, you may have the chance to see some nests and baby birds. Seize your chance and have a dip in the fresh waters of Skadar Lake, wrapped by scenic views. After immersing in fresh waters, return to Virpazar.

Leave the dock in Virpazar through a small and narrow river enveloped with reeds and willows, and you will find yourself at the open lake. Examine the lake while marvelling at its size and observing the distant mountains in Albania. Continue your journey left, under a nearby bridge and discover Lesendro, an 18th-century fortress, gliding through the fields of water chestnuts – kasaronje. Have your breath taken away by the view hidden behind the three islets. As you continue gazing at the proud Montenegrin coast, you will find yourself in a small fishermen's village named Karuč. Like any other village on Skadar Lake, Karuč is tiny - yet, it is a giant in terms of history and nature. In this hidden gem of Skadar Lake, you can feel the spirit of past times and enjoy the mesmerizing environment. Karuč was the village from where fishermen used to go fishing, as the Karuč Eye was known for the abundance of bleak. There are still ruins of the houses that the fishermen were using to store their nets and other equipment. You will have around one hour to explore the village. After that, we will return to Virpazar. Meanwhile, expect a stop for swimming. Don't forget to pack your swimsuits because you do not want to miss diving inside the fresh waters of Skadar Lake.

Start your journey in Virpazar - a tiny townlet situated in the heart of Skadar Lake, and set off on your scenic 1-hour cruise across the beautiful blue waters. Navigate along a small river channel surrounded by reeds and willow trees.  After exiting the river, find yourself on the open lake while the boat proceeds to Grmožur. Meanwhile, soak up the incredible views of Mount Vranjina and the impressive ranges in Albania, rising from the biggest lake in Southern Europe. Twenty-five minutes away from Virpazar, the ruined fortress Grmožur ascends from the waters of Skadar Lake. This abandoned fortification is known as Montenegrin Alcatraz and used to be a jail in the time of King Nikola. Among the locals, Grmožur was called the Island of Snakes. Nowadays, the island is a permanent habitat for certain bird species and a temporary retreat during the migration from Central and Northern Europe to Africa. That is why it has another, much more beautiful name - the Island of Birds. Admire the impressive fortification - Grmožur, from approximately 20 meters distance as you circle it.  During the journey, marvel at the breathtaking panoramas, and keep your eyes peeled for many species of native birds, including cormorants, herons, seagulls, and, if you are lucky, maybe some pelicans. Observe them drying their wings on the top of the walls of Grmožur.  Next, the boat will stop in the middle of the open water for you to take a refreshing swim. Ensure you bring your swimsuit and towel and immerse yourself in the crystal-clear blue waters. Finally, return to the starting point where the tour concludes.
