Visiting places: Horror Highway: May 1, 1972, will never be forgotten by people in Quang Tri and Thua Thien provinces not because it is International Labor Day, but because of the horrible carnage on Vietnam Highway 1, the Horror Highway. Thousands of civilians, mostly the elders, women, children, and scores of soldiers were killed by artillery and infantry weapons in hours of shooting. Long Hung Church: one of the very few existing buildings remains in Quang Tri town during “Fire Summer” or Eastern Offensive in 1972. It is a National Relic in the town of Quang Tri Vietnam – BA5453. Quang Tri Ancient Citadel: is seen as an eye-witness of fierce battles during the anti-American resistance war in 1972. During the 81-day fighting, the citadel was almost destroyed by thousands of tons of bombs released by the US army. Nowadays, the citadel becomes a place to mark immortal victories of the Vietnamese army and people and to educate youths about the nation’s revolutionary tradition and its patriotism. Dakrong Bridge: the bridge was considered the beginning of the Ho Chi Minh Trail network, and during many years of Vietnam War, this access point was hotly contested. The Dakrong Bridge fell many times. Now it’s a grand suspension bridge, a proud thumbed nose as if to say, “You can’t knock down my bridge anymore.” On the way, tourists also have chances to meet Paco minority village. Ta Con Airport: now is the Khe Sanh Combat Base Museum, contains a boneyard of several captured U.S. tanks and aircraft destroyed during the Battle of Khe Sanh. According to the official accounts provided by the museum, 197 U.S. planes were shot down or captured during the 170-day battle. Free snacks. Enjoy the local Khe Sanh coffee (own expense). After break, our guide and car take you back to the war sites, including: Hien Luong Bridge – Ben Hai River: The Geneva Agreements on Vietnam signed in 1954 divided Vietnam into North and South with the 17th Parallel where the Ben Hai River runs through the central province of Quang Tri as a borderline. Hien Luong Bridge, also knows as the Peace Bridge, was built by the French in 1950, across Ben Hai River. It is 178 m long but it took 21 years for Vietnamese people from the North and the South to be united. Vinh Moc Tunnels and Tunnels Museum: The most highlight part of DMZ Tour during Vietnam War. The complex of Vinh Moc tunnel located deep in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone and sheltered Vinh Linh county people from the intense bombing. The Ba Na Cable Car, opened on March 29, 2013, holds the world record for the longest non-stop single track cable car at 5801 meters in length. Its latest tourist attraction is the Golden Hand Bridge Danang. 3 - Marble Mountain: All of the mountains have cave entrances and numerous tunnels, and it is possible to climb to the summit of Thuy Mount (Water Mount). Several Buddhist sanctuaries can also be found within the caves, making this a famous tourist site. This area is also famous for stone sculpture making village and stone-cutting crafts in the foot of the mountain. 4 - Linh Ung Pagoda on Monkey Mountain (Vietnamese: Chùa Linh Ứng Bãi Bụt): also known as Lady Buddha Pagoda in Da Nang is one of the three most famous Linh Ung Pagodas in Da Nang. Today we will have chance to experience some relics left from the war and learn about the Vietnam War. This bridge is located in 17th Parallel and in Vietnam War, it was bisected between South Vietnam and North Vietnam. - Ben Hai River has a total length of about 100 kilometers Quang Tri Province, its source is located in the Truong Son Mountains along the border with Laos and it flows into the East Sea at Cua Tung (Tung River mouth). In the mountains, the river is named "Rao Thanh". It flows from west to east just south of the 17th parallel and close to the northern border of Quảng Trị Province, in which it is located. At its widest point, the river is about 200 meters wide. This was well known as Border between North and South Vietnam during Vietnam War. - Vinh Moc Tunnels: Vinh Moc is a tunnel complex in Quang Tri, Vietnam. During the American War it was strategically located on the border of North Vietnam and South Vietnam. The tunnels were built to shelter people from the intense bombing of Son Trung and Son Ha communes in Vinh Linh county of Quang Tri Province in the Vietnamese Demilitarized Zone. - Khe Sanh Combat Base: Khe Sanh is the district capital of Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province, Vietnam, about 63 km west of Đông Hà city. During the Vietnam War, the Khe Sanh Combat Base was located to the north of the city. The Battle of Khe Sanh took place there for 77 days (US Story and 170 days for Vietnamese Story). Today, Khe Sanh Combat Base only remains a museum at former Tà Cơn Airport (Ta Con Air Base), where relics of the war are exhibited. Most of the former base is now overgrown by wilderness or coffee and banana plants.

Located in the Vinh Linh district, the Vinh Moc Tunnels complex was used by the North Vietnam Army to fight against the Americans during the Vietnam War and used by the civilian population to protect themselves from the American bombing. The length of the tunnels is about 2km divided into 3 levels of depth. Upon arrival at Phong Nha town, settle the payment to our driver and we finish the transfer from Hue to Phong Nha by Private Car.

At 7:00 am, our experienced driver will pick you up at your hotel/ homestay in Hue and we start the round trip Dmz from Hue. On the way from Hue to visit Dmz, we will visit the highlights such as Horror Highway (The street of horror) is the unofficial name for a high way of about 9 km in Quang Tri province. The total area of the church is 1220m2, including the octagonal bell tower in the front, and above is a cross, 2 sides are the wide chapel, and corridor. After the war to protect Quang Tri Citadel, the church collapsed due to the bombs. One of the important relics in our Hue to Dmz Tour is Doc Mieu Firebase is considered the most important base of the Mc Namara defense line. Here the enemy built a system of arched cellars, mobile concrete bunkers, and ground artillery battlefield in the direction of firing off the North bank of Ben Hai River. Around the base in addition to the thick barbed wire fence, there is an alarm system against intrusion Hien Luong Bridge is the name associated with the cluster of historical relics surrounding the Ben Hai riverbank.
