One of Casas del Bosque’s biggest strengths is its soil. In the hills, red clay composites of volcanic origin sit on top of decomposed granite layers formed 110 million years ago beneath the Pacific Ocean. This soil gives their wines the unique characteristic sea salt flavor.  Casas del Bosque has gained great prestige over the years and in 2010 became the Best Vineyard to Visit in Chile. This was a great excursion out of Santiago. Gabriel our guide was fluent in 3 languages keeping all of his explorers in the know in their native language. He was professional and fun. We had a fabulous lunch at Mediterano, a lovely restaurant with a gorgeous view of the Pacific. Roberto our driver was amazing navigating the narrow streets and busy highways. All in all a great day.

Spectacular tour, from the arrival in Valpo, its streets and landscapes, then passing through Viña del Mar, the beaches, beautiful sunsets.
