Santiago: Cousiño Macul Official Winery Tour with Tasting

Santiago: Cousiño Macul Official Winery Tour with Tasting

Explore the vineyards and the wine cellars of the renowned winery of Cousiño Macul. Discover the Chilean wine-making tradition as you get acquainted with the history of the winery and wine production. At the end of your tour, taste some of the delicious wines produced here.  The tour begins in the outdoor area where the winery guide will explain the grapes that produce the best wines - Finis Terrae and Lota. Learn about the quality of the vineyard and the concept about how smaller the amount of grape clusters, the greater the concentration of its compounds. Continue through the winery with the largest barrels in Chile and in the world, made with Chilean oak and with a capacity for 30,000 liters, though no longer used are still a part of history. See many more elements and old pieces that were used for wine production and get to understand the differences between the old and modern-day production processes. Walk among the huge stainless steel barrels where the wine is processed today and visit the cellars that were built in the 19th century to see how and where the wine is stored. Before the end of the tour, you will partake in a tasting of some of Cousino Macul wines with some guidance on what to see, taste, and smell.

Bahá'i Temple and Cousiño Macul Vineyard

Bahá'i Temple and Cousiño Macul Vineyard

History, architecture and wine. A combination that you cannot miss! We start our day in the direction of Viña Cousiño Macul, founded in 1856 and being one of the oldest vineyards in the Maipo Valley. The architecture of this place has a beautiful French style with a stone base and brick vaults glued with mortar (a mixture of lime, sand and egg white). Here you can enjoy a tour, learn about the history and taste its exquisite varieties of wine. Then, we will visit the Bahá`i House of Worship, the first in South America. An imposing place that stands out for its architecture and lighting, here you can connect with yourself in a calm and serene environment. Located in the foothills of the Andes, it also gives you a spectacular panoramic view of Santiago.

Excellent, the tour is very good, the guide who spoke Spanish was wonderful, she explained everything about the winery and gave us the tour, the wines are excellent, I highly recommend this tour. To go there I recommend taking the METRO to the Quillin Station and then taking a Taxi (3000 pesos) to get to the Winery, it is cheaper than buying the packages from agencies.

Great wine and seeing the vineyard also inexpensive. However they had no english tour so it was hard to understand everything in spanish. Something to keep in mind

Excellent! The guide Bastian was very knowledgeable and very friendly!

Excellent activity, nice place, punctual information, adequate time

Great history and wines, Consuelo is a very good guide.
