We were collected on time from our hotel. Given a personal tour around Trakai castle. As well as an interesting and thought provoking tour of the Paneriari memorial. We could have done with a little more time in trakai to explore and will definitely go back one day. However we felt the tour offered good value and well worth going.
We were just 2 tourists booked for this tour since it was lean season. I was expecting that they might cancel but luckily for us, they pushed tru it. Communication via email was easy. Our guide Andre gave us quite an info about Lithuania. We are looking forward of going back to Vilnius and avail of their daytous in the future.
The experience is not just a stroll on some path through the woods. If snow is absent, as was the case when I went, you get to hike in the woods, and it can be quite hilly. Happily, my guide brought poles to use in steeper, somewhat muddier areas. What wonderfully views we enjoyed from several high points overlooking Vilnius!
Our guide was very good. He was interested in the things he told us so he presented them in an interesting and lively way, not only as if reading out of a book. We also liked his humane view-points. And he put in an extra effort to walk us to a restaurant that we asked about. He also answered our questions very dutifully.
Good tour with options to see different aspects like Paneriai (WW II) and Trakai (medieval history). The guide woman was good although she was not very emphatic. 1h free time to see Trakai Castle after listening guide woman explanations. I reccomend the tour although the guide woman could improve her attitude.
