Things to do in Villa La Angostura

Begin your full-day tour from your hotel in Bariloche at 8 AM.  Then, head north through the town of Dina Huapi and the bridge over the Limay River, connecting to the legendary Route 40. Along the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, make your first short stop in Villa la Angostura, a town with mountain architecture ideal for walking on foot. Next, start walking an incredible path surrounded by mountains and lakes.  Make stops along the way to experience the hike to its fullest. On the Road of the Seven Lakes, see Espejo Lake, Correntoso Lake, Villarino Lake, Falkner, Escondido Lake, Machónico Lake, and Lácar Lake, before finally arriving at the city of San Martin. You will have free time to explore the city and have lunch in front of the lake before starting the return along the same path. After making your last stop at Villa la Angostura, arrive in Bariloche at approximately 6:30 PM.

Embark on a guided full-day trip to the village of Villa La Angostura, known as "The Garden of Patagonia". Visit nearby lake-side villages and stop at Bayo Hill to ski in the mountains.  After your early morning hotel pickup, set off from San Carlos de Bariloche towards Villa La Angostura, considered one of the most beautiful cities in Argentina.  Admire the breathtaking views of Lake Nahuel Huapi and the surrounding mountains as you drive through the famous National Route 40. On the way, make a stop at the picturesque, snow-capped Bayo Hill. Here, you can choose to spend the day skiing or continue with the tour onto the Villa La Angostura.  Be led a city tour of Villa La Angostura, this picturesque town, renowned for its alpine architecture and relaxed atmosphere, and visit the nearby lake villages in Bahía Manzano and Bahía Mansa. On the way back to San Carlos de Bariloche, travelers who opted to stay for a day of skiing will be picked up in Bayo Hill.

This guided tour starts with hotel pick up in Bariloche starting at 8:00 AM. We will head north, crossing the town of Dina Huapi and the bridge over the Limay River to connect with the legendary Route 40. On the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, we will make our first stop in Villa La Angostura, a charming village of mountain architecture ideal for walking. After this short hike, we will continue along the Seven Lakes Road, a scenic route surrounded by mountains and lakes such as Espejo, Correntoso, Villarino, Falkner, Escondido, Machónico and Lácar, arriving in San Martín de los Andes around noon. There you will have free time to explore and have lunch in front of the lake (lunch not included) before heading back. Passing through Villa La Angostura again, we will make our last stop and arrive in Bariloche at approximately 6:30 pm. This full-day tour covers about 360 km in total.

Discover the spectacular Grand Circuit, an experience that departs from Bariloche and takes you through breathtaking landscapes. Start by bordering the Limay River until you reach the Amphitheater, a unique natural formation. Continue towards the majestic Enchanted Valley, famous for its whimsical rock formations. The route meanders along the Cuyín Manzano, Traful and Minero rivers, reaching the imposing Traful Lake and its lookout point, a cliff of more than 70 meters with extraordinary panoramic views. Visit the charming Villa Traful, ideal for fishing and camping by the lake. Cross Puerto Arrayán and El Portezuelo to join the Seven Lakes Route, arriving at the picturesque Villa La Angostura. In Villa La Angostura, enjoy free time for lunch and to explore the charms of the village, such as the Port, the Mansa and Brava bays, and the El Mesidor Residence. The return to Bariloche passes through varied and scenic landscapes, closing a day full of adventure and natural beauty in Patagonia.

We will embark on our journey starting from Route No. 40, where we will cross the bridge over the Limay River, the natural boundary between the provinces of Río Negro and Neuquén. Crossing the Huemul peninsula and Puerto Manzano, we head towards Villa La Angostura before proceeding along the Seven Lakes Route: Nahuel Huapi, majestic in its magnitude, is one of the most important glacial origin lakes, covering an area of 529 km. Lake Villarino, framed by a forest of coihues and mountain ranges, is visible from the high road and connects with Lake Falkner. Between two mountains by the roadside, we'll see Lake Machonico with calm waters of a dark blue color. Arriving in San Martín de los Andes, you'll observe Lake Lacar. We will return by the same route to reach the hotels in Bariloche.

Discover Villa La Angostura and Cerro Bayo, only 90 km from Bariloche. This destination combines nature and winter sports in a spectacular setting. The route to Villa La Angostura takes you along the Nahuel Huapi Lake, passing through steppes and forests of cypresses and coihues. In the village, visit the port, the El Mesidor Residence, the Selva Triste Lagoon and the "La Asunción" Chapel. Only 10 km from the village, Cerro Bayo awaits with its chairlifts that take you to the top to enjoy panoramic views and exciting activities such as culipatín. In San Martin de los Andes, on the shores of Lake Lácar, you will have time to explore the town and enjoy lunch overlooking the mountain scenery. The return journey will take you back along the same route, ensuring that every moment of the trip is an opportunity to capture the essence of Patagonia at its best.

We left very early from the center of the city heading east to border the entire northern margin of Lake Nahuel Huapi, we crossed the bridge over the Limay River and from there a few kilometers to join the national route 237 that takes us to Villa La. Angostura, where we do a short one (30/40 minutes) The journey to San Martín, on a wooded path that crosses rivers and streams and borders several lakes (Correntoso, Espejo, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner and Machónico), we will have stops at panoramic points. To finish at Lake Lacar, on whose shores the city of San Martin de los Andes emerges. We give free time to tour the center (approximately 2 hours) and have lunch before heading back along the same Camino.
