Skaftafell: Ice Cave Tour and Glacier Hike

This was an amazing tour! One of the highlights of our trip. The caves were closed but that meant we got more time to hike closer to the glacier. Gorgeous views, a knowledgeable guide, and an overall very unique experience. Could not experience a glacier in the same way without a tour like this. Definitely recommend this as a must book!!

This was an amazing experience. Our guide read the group well, kept our pace manageable, and had lots of stories and facts to share about the glacier. The cave was a highlight, but overall just standing on a glacier, enjoying some glacier ice water, and seeing the view from up there was all well worth it. My only warning would be that I saw this listed as both "easy" and "medium" difficulty on this site and the Troll site - I would definitely say it's more on the medium side with some hard spots. Not sure if really suitable for children under 13 - I'm short, but I had plenty of difficulty with some of the stairs carved in to the glacier that we had to climb up.

Die Gletscherwanderung hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht und man hat sich stets sicher gefühlt. Unsere Gruppenleiterin Sam war sehr passioniert und hat ihr Wissen über den Gletscher gerne geteilt. Leider waren die Höhlen an dem Tag überschwemmt, an dem wir die Tour hatten, deshalb waren wir „nur“ auf dem Gletscher. Da kann Troll natürlich nichts für, allerdings hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass man vielleicht am gleichen Morgen per Mail benachrichtigt wird, immerhin hatten sie ja unsere Daten. Stattdessen haben wir dann erst Bescheid bekommen, als wir bereits da waren. Aber wir haben dann Geld zurück bekommen. Leider gab es am Treffpunkt auch keine Toiletten, aber ansonsten war alles gut.
