We were so glad we were able to experience this. Lucy and Diego were awesome guides. I agree with others that five hours allows you to really explore the glacier- we were able to enter ice caves, look over into a 60 meter moulin, and ascend to (almost!) the top. My partner and I do quite a bit of hiking and while it was not strenuous, I was a bit tired after five hours of trecking up and down the glacier.

100% recommend this 5 hour glacier hike, you get to explore so much more of the Glacier vs the 3 hour. Our guide was so awesome, he knew so much about the glacier, filled the group with confidence and even went to the trouble of setting up an abseiling rope so we could get a closer look at a huge crevace waterfall. Truly amazing and can’t thank him and troll expeditions enough!!

5 hour glacier hike was amazing. Boring was the guide and was excellent. Very glad I read up and decided on 5 hour tour vs 3 hour tour. Between gearing up and getting to glacier, 3 hour leaves little actual time on the ice. Meanwhile the 5 hour allowed us to have lunch with epic view and time to explore an ice cave(not usually there got lucky)
