Go on a glacier snowmobiling ride on the majestic Mýrdalsjökull Glacier, an ice cap to the north of Vik, while enjoying panoramic views of the South Coast. Begin your tour at the Mýrdalsjökull Base Camp. Meet your guide and get dressed up in an insulated cover-all. Then, step aboard the glacier truck, specially modified to climb the steep mountain road leading up to the edge of the glacier. Once you reach the snowmobiles, get a briefing from the guide on how to safely operate the gear, before starting the ride. Be safely led through the crevassed ice field of Mýrdalsjökull. Upon making it to the top of the ice cap, step off the snowmobiles to admire the amazing views of Iceland's South Coast. Below your feet rests the giant Katla Volcano, hidden beneath the ice cap. After an hour-long ride, head back to the Base Camp. Make sure not to forget your camera to savor the sheer magnitude of the glacier.

This tour is the perfect length of time for 'first-time riders' and individuals looking for a scenic, fun-ride, exploring and experiencing the wilderness, the glacier and the breathtaking views over south Iceland. In perfect conditions the jaw dropping view includes Westman Islands, the whole south coast all the way to Ingólfsfjall and even a big part of the highlands! The tour starts from the base, Gljúfrabúi by Road 249. After a short briefing where your guide takes you through safety procedures you dress up in a snowsuit and helmet and hop into a modified Super Jeep. You then drive towards Eyjafjallajökull and up it's slopes, onto the glacier base where the snowmobiles are kept.  The duration of the tour varies from season to season since you drive up to the ever-changing snow-line to reach the snowmobiles but the snowmobiling itself is about 1 hour.  In winter time it is easier to reach snow so the tour is about 2 hours, but in the summer time you need to drive higher to reach the snow-line, then the tour can take up to 4 hours.

Ride a powerful ATV over a large, black, volcanic beach, walk behind the thundering veil of water at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and take in the incredible view over Iceland's South Coast from the top of the cascade Skógafoss on this fantastic day tour.  After being picked up in the morning or meeting up with your guide at Reykjavík Terminal, head to Iceland's South Coast, famous for its dramatic coastline and cascading waterfalls. Your first stop is the black desert of Sólheimasandur, in the shadow of Eyjafjallajökull glacier, where you'll swap the bus for a powerful ATV quad-bike.  After traversing the stark, black beaches of the Island's South Coast on your ATV bike, make your way to the DC3 plane wreck from 1973, recently seen in Justin Bieber's music video and photo shoots.  By looking northwards and inland, the Mýrdalsjökull glacier rises majestically. At the same time, to the south, sense the raw power of the enormous Atlantic waves crashing onto the shore. Once back on the bus, continue your journey and visit an iconic waterfall duo: Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss.  The former falls from heights of 60-meters, and a staircase next to it will lead you to unbelievable views of the South Coast and Iceland's interior. Seljalandsfoss is a narrower cascade that falls over a concave cliff, making it possible to encircle the stream of water fully.
