Iceland South Coast Full-Day Minibus Tour

4. Iceland South Coast Full-Day Minibus Tour

After an early wake-up and pick-up in one of the coolest cities of Europe, take a great 10-hour tour to see Iceland. Make your first stop at waterfall Seljalandsfoss, with no doubt one of the most famous one in the country. This is a waterfall you can walk behind, with a drop off 65 meters and a part of the river Seljalandsá which has its origins underneath the glacier Eyjafjallajökull - the famous volcano that erupted in 2010 and put the world's flights on hold.  Head to the stunning waterfall Skógafoss, one of the largest at a width of 25 meters and drop off 60 meters. It can also be seen from above as there are footsteps that lead above the waterfall. Stop in Reynisfjara for lunch. Try Icelandic meat-soup or many other dishes. Take a walk on a black sand beach and maybe see  puffins if you are lucky. After that, drive to the Village of Vík for a short stop. Sólheimajökull Glacier is between the volcanoes Katla and Eyjafjallajökull, and a part of the larger Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Be dropped off in the parking lot and take a 15 to 20-minute walk along the glacier. On the way back to the city, hear the stories about all the trolls in the rocks, the elves and stop at some secret places, before you arrive back in Reykjavik at around 6:00 PM.

From Reykjavik: South Coast and Black Beach ATV Ride

5. From Reykjavik: South Coast and Black Beach ATV Ride

Ride a powerful ATV over a large, black, volcanic beach, walk behind the thundering veil of water at Seljalandsfoss waterfall, and take in the incredible view over Iceland's South Coast from the top of the cascade Skógafoss on this fantastic day tour.  After being picked up in the morning or meeting up with your guide at Reykjavík Terminal, head to Iceland's South Coast, famous for its dramatic coastline and cascading waterfalls. Your first stop is the black desert of Sólheimasandur, in the shadow of Eyjafjallajökull glacier, where you'll swap the bus for a powerful ATV quad-bike.  After traversing the stark, black beaches of the Island's South Coast on your ATV bike, make your way to the DC3 plane wreck from 1973, recently seen in Justin Bieber's music video and photo shoots.  By looking northwards and inland, the Mýrdalsjökull glacier rises majestically. At the same time, to the south, sense the raw power of the enormous Atlantic waves crashing onto the shore. Once back on the bus, continue your journey and visit an iconic waterfall duo: Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss.  The former falls from heights of 60-meters, and a staircase next to it will lead you to unbelievable views of the South Coast and Iceland's interior. Seljalandsfoss is a narrower cascade that falls over a concave cliff, making it possible to encircle the stream of water fully.

From Reykjavik: 3-Day South Coast Winter Tour with Ice Cave

6. From Reykjavik: 3-Day South Coast Winter Tour with Ice Cave

Explore the geothermal and frozen landscapes of the south coast of Iceland on a 3-day tour. Marvel at amazing waterfalls and explore an ice cave. Be wowed by black lava sand beaches, walk on the shores of Glacier Lagoon, and feel the thrill as you encounter spectacular geothermal features. Day 1: Golden Circle & Kerið Volcanic Crater On the first day you will visit all the best-known places in Iceland that make the Golden Circle Route: Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Golden Waterfall and Haukadalur Geothermal area that is home to Strokkur Geyser. Before heading to your lodging for the night you will also visit the volcanic crater lake of Kerið. When spending the night in a lovely village of Hveragerði you can walk around Geothermal Park or by Reykjafoss Waterfall searching for Northern Lights (if weather conditions are favorable). Day 2: South Coast of Iceland Second day will start with drive across the South Coast of Iceland to reach your first destination - Seljalandsfoss waterfall and nearby hidden waterfall of Gljufrabui. Continue to Skógafoss waterfall to watch the Skógá River fall 60 meters at the powerful cascades. After seeing three stunning waterfalls comes time to walk on the worlds-famous Black Sand Beach of Reynisfjara. Dark volcanic sands stretch as far as the eye can see, with mighty Atlantic waves crashing into the Reynisdrangar, fingers of volcanic rock that tower into the sky just offshore. Second night, this time spent in remote location in South-East Iceland, brings more chances to spot aurora. Day 3: Ice Caving Expedition and Glacier Lagoon This day takes you deep into the Vatnajokull National Park. Walk on shores of Glacier Lagoon and on ice scattered beach called Diamond. The highlight of the whole tour is an ice caving. Equipped with all the necessary safety equipment you will jump on the super jeep taking you to the stunning natural ice cave laying underneath the biggest glacier in Europe - Vatnajokull. The Blue Ice Cave really shows the tremendous forces of Icelandic nature, as they are formed naturally in glaciers when fresh water freezes in the plunging winter temperatures. New caves are created every year as the glaciers freeze and melt and refreeze into different shapes. On that day you will also stop by a traditional turf church and take another look at basalt columns when having a refreshment break in the village of Vik.

Excellent tour of the South Coast. Adonis, the tour guide, was very friendly, professional, and safety conscious for everyone on board. Interesting and amusing stories about Iceland. Adonis made sure that we had a relaxing and enjoyable experience. Highly recommend the tour. Small bus tour, no extra bus transfer. Makes a difference to the day. Amazing glaciers, waterfalls and black sea scenery. Do wear crampons if going during winter weather with lots of snow. otherwise worth going on this tour. Thanks Adonis.

This trip was amazing ! We got to see so much beautiful scenery. The glacier lagoon was stunning and we were lucky enough to see lots of seals. A lot of travelling but definitely worth it ! Pearl was the perfect guide she was very friendly and knowledgable and made the trip interesting and very enjoyable. Peter was also amazing, driving and allowing us extra time when we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. They made a great team and made the trip.

The tour guide, Perla, was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful and enthusiastic about Iceland. Overall, the trip was fabulous! The places that we stopped at were breathtakingly beautiful and most definitely a bucket list experience! Both Perla and the driver, Peter, went above and beyond for the travellers on this trip and constantly put them first supporting any needs. Amazing trip, totally recommend.

This tour is a must, although we had a few problems… bus getting stuck in the snow. It was still amazing! It would’ve been better to get longer in the Sky Lagoon but due to weather the tour overrun and and we didn’t get as long as we would’ve wanted. Karolina the guide was very good and informative. Would highly recommend this tour to others! The black sand beach is amazing.

I'm super excited, the tour was 1000% worth it. Of course you are on the bus a lot, but you also get enough time to look at everything in peace or to eat something in between. I can really recommend the 3-day tour to everyone! Everything was organized perfectly and everyone was very friendly and courteous.
