Passing by the State Opera and the Hotel Sacher, you will head towards the Kärntnerstraße. You will then continue to St. Stephen’s Cathedral, with its small architectural secrets, and to the Pestsäule on the Graben. See the Demel pastry shop, which has been located in the center of Vienna’s exquisite shopping street Kohlmarkt for 240 years.
Stroll past the Café Central and along the Ferstl Passage to the picturesque Christmas market at the Freyung – an ideal spot for sweets and mulled wine. From here it is only a few steps into the heart of Vienna with the Burgtheater, the town hall, and the Austrian Parliament Building.
The tour ends at Rathausplatz, where Vienna’s largest and most colorful Christmas market is located starting 16 November. Afterwards you can follow the recommendation of walking to the parliament building past the Christmas village on Maria-Theresien-Platz. It leads to the Christmas area in the Museum Quarter.
