This place was the sole reason for my vacation. The journey I took to reach this place came with a few sacrifices of rest and sleep but it was totally worth it. The beautiful journey starts from Vienna to this small village Hallstatt which is so awesome with snow-peaked Alps on both sides of the road , If you are lucky it might snow the whole day which makes it more beautiful (I was lucky enough) and mesmerizing experience. When you reach the village it's just so unreal that its jaw-dropping beauty. The famous picture of the village with alps moutions in the background is a must, this view was worth the sleepless night and spending the money on this tour. I had to make a run for it back and forth the bus because I was bit late , but worth spending every penny.
The kayaking tour was a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend. We had so much fun! James was a great guide, experienced, he's been giving kayaking tours and wine tours in Vienna for a couple of years now and took care of everything for us - we got to just enjoy the water and the tour of the city from the Old Danube. l am a local in Vienna, but found the tour to be a real treat providing me with new insights into my city. It was a relaxing, beautiful day out on the water, paddling, swimming and learning about Vienna. I liked our small group of people on the tour and fell in love with my city in a whole new way. Highly recommended.
This tour is worth considering if you don't want to have to worry about where to go, and driving conditions. The guide kept us on time, although it felt rushed at our meal breaks/WC breaks along the way. The guide, Elena, was super knowledgeable about the region, and had great stories to share, suggestions on where to visit next time. Not sure I would go to Hallstaat if given the opportunity again. Felt like the local community is quite overburdened with tourists. I couldn't imagine living there, with the deluge of visitors they receive, and I went during Corona Virus fears had cut those numbers significantly.
it was a great trip, first I would like to mention about our tour guide and driver Alex, he was so informative and on time. we started with a small group a mini coach. the way he explained things during the trip was fantastic and so professional. would definitely love to explore more with Alex/travel agent. thanks and wish you good luck.
We visited at the beginning of March so it wasn’t that busy. The lift has a glass roof so you can watch as the life ascends to the top of the towers. The view from the tower is amazing! The restaurant/cafe at the top slowly revolves that you don’t actually notice. The staff are friendly and polite.
