This is a great way to see the most famous Austrian Wine region! We met at the office in Vienna and then took a 1 hour train to Krems where we picked up our bikes. Then ride to the 1st winery, then ride to lunch in Durnstein (for an extra 13 euros) with some free time, then ride to the 2nd winery, then ride all the way back to Krems for the train back to Vienna. I would say it is a moderate level of biking. This is probably a normal bike ride for Europeans, but as an American who hasn't ridden a bike in years, I was sore the next day! Would highly recommend to anyone interested in white wines and experiencing the local scenery, just make sure you are physically up to the task.

Amazing, breathtaking, delicious!

We absolutely loved our bike trip to wachau valley! Thomas was an excellent guide and very informative and excellent at taking care of our group! The wines were excellent and the scenery was beautiful. The only suggestion would be for the company to provide another guide to take up the back or help to keep everyone together and help with bike issues?

The bike tour through the vineyards was super nice. There were two wine tastings and for lunch we made a stop in a small village where we also ate. Before eating we walked to a ruin. However, you should be good on foot for this, as there are a lot of stairs, but they are very uneven. The route itself was fairly flat. We were very surprised that some passengers could not ride a bike at all or were in such poor condition that we only made slow progress and were a bit short on time. However, our guide, Iolo, was able to solve it very well.
