It is a beautiful part of the country. Melk Abbey is stunning. The guide for the Abbey was very informative. Wachau Valley should not be missed. We plan to stay in the valley next time we visit there. Tasting wines at the local winery taught a lot on the different types of wines.

We had a wonderful personally tailored trip to Wachau Valley. It was a small group, just my husband and me, and 2 other travelers. Our guide Tomas was so pleasant and easy going. We went to a couple of wineries and was given time to walk around the town, then went on a boat cruise down the Danube to Melk. The boat cruise only operates until the middle of October, so I'm sure afterwards, there will be more opportunities for wine tasting or other excursions in the wine regions. Since we're there in the fall, we got to see the leaves changing color - spectacular! I learned so much about wine making, the unique regions around Vienna. Definitely worth doing!
