Full description
The Vienna Residence Orchestra is one of the best chamber orchestras in the world. Each individual musician is a renowned soloist, and the orchestra performs in great concert halls around the world. Mexico City, Montevideo, Paris, Berlin, Rome, Athens, and Budapest are just some of the places that the VRO has visited with its guest conductor Rudolf Nurejev. Under the musical leadership of Prof Christian Pollack and guest conductors Gerhard Lagrange, Daniel-Hoyem Cavazza and Zoltán Janikovic, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra plays concerts every day in the most beautiful Viennese palaces: in small and large groups, with famous opera singers, ballet dancers, and musical delights that match the appropriate seasonal theme. The VRO’s Mozart and Strauss concerts are one of the cultural highlights of any journey to Vienna. The Vienna Residence Orchestra combines an interesting parallel with Wolfgang A. Mozart, since the orchestra’s home is the very place where Mozart performed some of his most remarkable concerts. The magnificent Palais Auersperg in Baroque style is one of the focal points of European music, political, and social history. In addition to Mozart, Joseph Haydn and Christoph Willibald Gluck made their contribution to world music. The noble family Auersperg and the Swedish royal family Vasa also made political commitments at the Palais Auersperg and established their aristocratic splendor with lavish festivities. Today the Palais Auersperg and the Vienna Residence Orchestra is managed by Sylvia Moser, who enriches Vienna’s cultural life with these two institutions.

Very nice time. It really seems like a cliché to go to a concert in Vienna but it's really part of the vibe of this beautiful city. Very good musicians, smiling and transmitting their pleasure of playing. The fact of also having a couple of dancers and an opera singer is really a plus that energizes the concert. The room is very small, so you can see well from everywhere, even from the back of the room. On the other hand, they announce 90mn but it is rather 35mn concert + 20mn of intermission (for the sale of a flute of champagne) + 35mn of concert.

Concert ok, unfortunately, the organization of the service was terrible, I paid an additional 25 Eur for a category A ticket, unfortunately there were no sectors in the room so I was sitting in the order when I came, besides, I did not receive a glass of wine what the service promised for an extra fee, was it not strange ?? ???

The concert was very good. The organization that leaves much to be desired. I was at the address on the afternoon before the concert and the girl who gave us information saw my printed voucher and confirmed the concert at that venue and the costume on the day and time. When we arrived to watch the other day, they barred us and said it was somewhere else. We complained about the organization that we were not warned. After a few minutes they called a cab and we paid. Then when we arrived the receptionist refunded us the taxi. We lost a little of the Concert and almost ran out of the drink, which we had to complain about to get it right like everyone else there. It should be more organized and warn of changes in advance and also have more prepared staff to give correct information. Unfortunate!!!
