    Know before you go

    • Discounts available for children 5 - 18 years and students up to 27 years old only with an International Student Identity Card (ISIC). No other student IDs accepted
    • Dress code: formal/black tie
    • Exchange your ticket any day before the concert at the office of the orchestra and skip the ticket line in the evening. Exchange at Kärntner Straße 51/3rd floor open daily from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM.

    A very touristy presented concert

    Unfortunately poor choices of music for this crowd of t-shirts abs shorts. Slow moving and drawn out. Needs to be fun and up-lifting pieces to go with the powered wig costumes. A classical circus in colour. A little disappointing. Also the seats were the worst in the house. We had to exchange and upgrade just to see the stage

    We had booked our tickets on line and had little idea of where we would be sitting. We ended up in the back row of the middle tier and could only see half the orchestra when sitting down and none of the singers. Luckily we were there for the music, not the action. Spoke to another guy at the interval and he was desperate as his view from the side was laughable and we had both paid the same price of £50 per ticket. It turns out we had done quite well with our seats! My husband was worried we wouldn't get any of the Strauss as it didn't appear on the programme but it was played right at the end and was definitely worth waiting for. The opera house is amazing inside. Top tip if you need the ladies - skip the queue in the foyer and head for the toilets on the second floor.

    Wonderful location and worthwhile concert

    Not being an opera goer , but wanting to experience the theatre and opera in the home of classical music was a most satisfying experience. Our seats were just 5 rows from the front and were excellent. Would be nice though to know beforehand where the seats would be at the time of purchase.
