Full description
Experience the authentic, impressive, and "real" side to Mozart's Vienna. Enjoy a top-class evening concert at Karlskirche, one of the most beautiful and interesting Baroque churches located north of the Alps. The Requiem Mass in D minor (K. 626) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, which was completed by F. X. Süssmayr, will be performed in the church. The special thing about the performance is that the 40 musicians of the orchestra are based on the size of the world premiere in 1756. This results in the ensemble's special, historical, and classic sound. The Requiem was Mozart's final composition in 1791 and was one of his impressive works of art. A variety of legends revolve around the requiem mass – for example, it is said that Mozart sang the moving "Lacrimosa" with his friends on his deathbed. Experience an evening concert in Karlskirche in Vienna, allowing you to relive the sounds and ambience of Mozart's time.

I own three top-rated recordings of Mozart's Requiem. So, when I bought my ticket for this, I wasn't sure how this would compare. I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of performance and interpretation. Also, the acoustics was very good (being in the first class section must have made a difference, it's imagine). I highly recommend it.

Beautiful concert in exquisite church

The setting is an amazingly beautiful church building set on a large, open Platz. The Mozart Requiem itself was outstanding--excellent conductor, orchestra, choir and soloists. The conductor brought out much of the already emotive quality of the Requiem, and the response from all the musicians brought out many of these subtle moments. Intimacy and drama juxtaposed without exaggeration. My only criticism is that with such a resonant venue, the choir and soloists occasionally were covered up.

Stunning performance

Profound and wonderful experience, incredible majestic Baroque Karlskirche church environment combined with the most delightful classic music you can imagine with perfect voices of main singers as well as chorus. Male tenor and barytone were both incredible and female soprano was almost from the heaven. I would love to hear this concert again but not in freezing Vienna of that night, likely in spring or summer in order to focus just to the music and not shaking from cold.
