Impressive old castles (13th century), both the restored parts and the ruins. Beautiful landscapes, especially the Gauja valley seen from the towers of Turaida and Sigulda (medieval castle). An image of true aristocracy in the new castle of Sigulda. Also here, pleasant visits to the workshops of weaving, pottery, leatherwork. A cup of cocoa and excellent cakes served in the confectioner's shop next to the new Sigulda castle. Be careful when booking : you must mention the option for the cable car if you wish. We were lucky to have a sunny day, although in April the temperature and the wind in Sigulda require a cold weather gear. A special word for Vadim, who accompanied us with kindness and patience throughout the trip and who gave us very useful explanations and directions.
