Monet's Garden Bike Tour from Paris

1. Monet's Garden Bike Tour from Paris

Begin this full-day Monet bike tour with a scenic coach journey through the spectacular wheat and sunflower fields of Normandy. Speed by the lazy Seine River, and stop off at the village of Vernon. Here, you will visit the charming farmers' market to buy picnic supplies. Then, hop-on your bike and pedal across the river to a beautiful park along the banks of the Seine. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing 3-mile (5-kilometer) ride down bike paths to the village of Giverny. Cruise past Giverny Church and its cemetery, which contains graves of local citizens dating back to the 17th Century, as well as British soldiers from World War 2, and even Monet himself buried within his family's vault. Pass Hotel Baudy, where Impressionist painters Manet and Renoir used to paint. You will then arrive at the highlight of the day, Monet's Garden. Spend about 90 minutes exploring the gardens and house, including the famous water lily pond where some of his most famous works originated. Additionally, you can explore the village of Giverny, which boasts the American Museum of Art, located across the street from Monet's Gardens, as well as numerous cafés and small streets begging to be discovered.

Bike tour from Vernon to Giverny with local guide

2. Bike tour from Vernon to Giverny with local guide

Hi, my name is Nicolas, I was born and I live in Vernon next to Giverny. Join me for a bike tour from Vernon to Giverny. Let's ride along the Seine river from Vernon-Giverny train station up to Claude Monet's house and gardens. We'll ride in the landscapes that inspired the Impressionists. You'll travel back in time from the Middle-Ages to the 19th century and World War 2 and will discover the iconic sites of Vernon. 80% percent of the ride on bike lanes, the rest in the streets of Giverny, with the finish in front of Monet's house. Enjoy a cool bike ride and spend a good day in the country of the Impressionists. How long is the tour? 1 hour, more or less. Anyway, I'm not a tour operator with a tight schedule so I won't rush you. If you want to stop to take photos, if you have questions, that's fine, and if the tour lasts 30mn more that's OK, I won't charge an extra. I want you to have fun. Why is the bike rental not included? To let you enjoy the bike for the whole day. If I rent the bikes on my name you'll have to come back to Vernon with me right after the tour. If you rent a bike on your name you can keep it until 7pm when the bike rental closes. The price is the same but the value for money is waaayyy better. Moreover, you can decide when you wanna leave, no strings attached. Why is the skip the line ticket for Monet's garden not included? To let you free to choose what you wanna do. Some people want to visit the gardens, some don't and some want to visit the Museum of Impressionisms instead. Ex: In a group of 4, 2 don't want to visit the gardens, so, they won't have to pay for it. Is it recommended to buy a skip the line ticket for Monet's gardens? Highly!!! Buy it now, thank me later. You'll find all the official resellers on the Monet Foundation's website. It's the same price than at the ticket office in Giverny. Is it easy to go back to Vernon? Yes, nobody got lost so far. But, if you want to be sure to find your way easily, I can provide you with an itinerary on a Google map simply by scanning a Qr code. Do you have tips? Yes. I'll take you where you can park the bikes safely. I'll show you where is the dedicated entrance for people with skip the line tickets, huge time saver, and I can show you where to eat. All this available on a Google map again if you want.

OJ was a fabulous guide . He was informative and personable . He managed to keep us all together during biking , picnicking and walking around . He was super helpful at any suggestions and we had fun talking about movies on the way back . I would highly recommend this excursion and you are lucky if you have OJ!

My son and I had a wonderful time. There wasn’t a part of the trip that we didn’t enjoy!! OJ did an incredible job with our group! The picnic location was beautiful and Monet’s garden and home were breathtaking!! A trip of a lifetime!! The bike ride was so much fun. I will definitely do another trip on a bike.

One of the best day trips we have ever taken. Nick, our guide was fantastic. He is very personable and shares the history of Monet and the area in an engaging manner.

Unfortunately the guide told too much about himself from Paris to Vernon!

Amazing! Could not have asked for a more perfect and idyllic trip.
