Just make sure you do the math before purchasing. I thought this was a great idea but we only used it 2 times. It probably would have been cheaper just to pay as we go. Additionally, we saved nothing by purchasing so far in advance as these do not sell out.

Full description

With this transportation pass, bypass the ticket lines and ride on Venice's public transport services. Climb aboard the public ship, known as the vaporetto, and explore the city by waterway. The ticket is valid for nearby areas and for buses in Mestre and Marghera.


Begin traveling around Venice with your pass by first pausing at a vaporetto stop. Once you've acquired your ticket, head out with one of the unique water buses to your destinations. Cruise around the city and take in the sights for an hour or up to a full week, depending on your ticket.


Make the most out of your ticket by journeying to area destinations, including Venice's surrounding islands. Experience the magic of Lido, Murano, Burano, and Torcello Island with the handy ticket that has you covered at every step of the way. Zip over to Mestre and Marghera with a bus.

  • Your ticket is considered valid from the first validation on board the water bus/bus. Tickets must be validated each time you board
  • Children under six years of age ride for free
  • Bags exceeding a total of 150 centimeters in dimension are not permitted
  • Tickets are not valid for the Alilaguna lines, Casinò route, and routes 16, 19, and 21
  • Please note that on certain days between 25 April 2024 and 14 July 2024, every visitor to Venice is required to pay an Access Fee directly to the City of Venice, except for specific exemptions. For dates, methods of payment, in order to benefit from the payment exemption and for all additional information please consult the website cda.ve.it

The vaporetto all day ticket is so cost effective, easy and efficient. We used the Waterbus far more than we thought we would because it's so easy to hop on and hop off route 1 which runs up and down the grand canal all day long. Our time was limited this trip so having the Waterbus ticket saved time and aching feet plus encouraged us to go further than we would have. We did our wandering and exploring on foot for the evening when weren't on a tight schedule. Highly recommend booking ahead for peace of mind. You are sent a code which allows you to print your ticket from the machine at your first departure point of the day. The machines are easy to use and understand with options for English etc After that you just tap in with that ticket every time.
