Full description
This is a shared boat service from Venice city centre to Venice airport. This service offers a more economic way of getting to the airport, yet faster than the Public Airport boat and cheaper than the private water taxi. A private boat (licenced) departs from the central meeting points (listed below) at the times stated. The boat will make additional stops, if necessary. Guests are requested to present themselves at the meeting points at least 15 minutes prior departure time. Embarkation piers are fixed at the closest pier according to the client's hotel location. No direct service to hotel pier apart from some hotels on the Grand Canal and some islands. Main stops from departing - Piazzale Roma - Carlton - Sabbioni - S.S. Apostoli - Rialto - Accademia - Trinità - S.Marco - S.Zaccaria - S.Maria Elisabetta

Let me say this up front: It worked great and the experiende itself was amazing! However, I felt that they should perhaps be a bit more transparent about how this all works. When you book this transfer, you are asked to submit your flight details via e-mail. I did that and then… I heard nothing from them until 5.30pm the day before my flight left. This might be a personal problem of mine but I tend to be a bit paranoid when it comes to airport transfers. Not hearing anything about when and where I would be picked up admittedly soured my final day in Venice a bit. In the end, it turned out that they simply send all the details straight to the Hotel I was staying at, which then forwarded the information to me. All went well in the end but I just wish I would have been told how this is going to work beforehand, hence the 4 star review.

The return journey to the Airport was an improvement on getting from the Airport to Venice as then we were not picked up. I had to get our Hotel Concierge to contact Albatravel the local representative to confirm what time we were being picked up & from where. Albatravel did then confirm to Hotel, but not to my email. We were picked up on time which was good when you have a flight to catch. I thought that the maximum amount sharing the water taxi was 6 persons, but we had 10 so it was very cramped. You think that you are being dropped off & picked up from your Hotel, but the fine print states the nearest stop to your hotel, so thats mis-leading especially as when you book you are asked for the name of your Hotel and my hotel did have its own landing. The water taxi is a fun experience, but if I was to return to Venice I would choose a private taxi as my Airport to Hotel transfer was unacceptable. .

This was seamless and easy. We told the taxi company what hotel we were staying at and when our flight was leaving, and they arranged everything with our hotel directly. All we had to do was take the itinerary from our hotel the night before we left and meet the taxi at the designated meeting point (a 4 minute walk from our hotel). Also, taking a water taxi to the airport is the coolest thing ever :-)
