Venice: Street Food Tour with a Local Guide and Tastings

Tone, our guide was excellent. He gave a lot of information in an interesting way. The places we visited were just the type of ‘hidden’ places we hoped to find and we loved the food. We purchased ‘ombra’ the local wines, at each location to have with our food. Our 14 year old son really enjoyed the tour also; the food was interesting and local. Exactly what we wanted. We tried local chichetti, boiled egg with anchovies, creamed cod, cuttlefish with black ink sauce, meat balls and polenta and lots more. I’m a vegetarian and Tone ensured I had choices too. We have done this now in lots of cities as a good way to start a holiday. It works really well as you find out what you like and where the locals drink and eat. Tone said he was quite new to the job and we thought he was great. He also gave us a list of other places to try, we ate in two of the restaurants and he was right- great choices!

Our tour was fantastic. Ana, our guide was so informative and kind, very funny too! She was an amazing guide and gave us insight to local food and customs. The tour was a good pace and easy to keep up with the walking. We had enough time at each stop and the food was very delicious. I really recommend. Well worth the money and a great start to our trip in Venice! :)
