Full description
Enjoy a full-day boat tour to discover the 3 most famous islands of Venice Lagoon: Murano, famous for glass artworks; Burano, with its colorful houses and unique handmade laces; and finally Torcello, the island from which Venice was born. The tour starts just a few steps far away from Venice Train Station in front of the Kentucky Fried Chicken Restaurant. After hopping onboard the boat, head to Murano, and stop there for 1.5 hours. Here, visit one of the many glass factories located on the island and attend a glass-making demonstration. Alternatively or afterward, walk to the lighthouse or visit iconic sights like the Basilica of Santi Maria and Donato, the Glass Museum, and Palazzo da Mula. The second stop of this 6-hour tour is Burano, with its marvelous colored houses. Spend 2 hours here, and choose how to enjoy them: strolling around the island, tasting typical fish-based dishes, shopping in the many lace artworks ateliers, or visiting the Lace Museum, housed in the historic Palazzo del Podestà of Torcello. The last stop of the tour is Torcello, where Venetian civilization was born in the 7th century when local folks sought refuge on the island to escape the Barbarians’ invasions on the mainland. Torcello is a very small island with only 10 inhabitants, but it is so rich in history that it is well worth a visit. Don't miss the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the ruins of the Baptistery of San Giovanni Evangelist, “Attila’s Throne,” and the Devil's Bridge, today still wrapped in a mysterious legend.

The boat was not overcrowded and the guide told and explained a lot in several languages including German. It was annoying that the starting point and end point should be at the train station. We started at the train station but the end point was at St. Mark's Square. If we wanted to go to the train station, we would have to pay € 5.

The tour to Murano, burano and torcello was very good except that it was raining whole day and we could not enjoy the sun. The best island was burano which had colourful houses and cute lace making shops. Murano has glass making shops but are extremely expensive. Our experience had been more amazing if the day would have been sunny.

We had an hotel close to the train station so we chose the pick up location by the train station. The tour of the islands were fantastic and very enjoyable but when we returned to Venice they dropped us off at a different location, by St Marks Square. At the end of the tour the tour guide said ""Thank you and this is the end of the tour" and ran off the boat before I could talk to her. I did hear another couple ask her how they get back to the train station location and she pretty much said you are on your own. At that point we were not sure exactly where we were. After a long day of Island hopping and hours of walking I was not real happy to hear we had to walk another mile or more to the hotel. Sure we could have taken a water bus but at that time I was mad that they did not drop us off where we started and did not want to have to spend more money. If the ending location is different than the meeting location this should have been mention when buying tickets.
