Venice: Rialto Market Food and Wine Lunchtime Tour

The tour was great however it was different than I expected. I thought we were going to the market and then also doing some food tastings. We did go to the market but it wasn’t even open so it’s not really a part of the tour if they don’t schedule the tours around the market times/days. I suppose it should just be called a food and wine tour. There were a lot of food tastings including lunch however 3 of the places were ones I had already been to on the locals food tasting tour. lol for that reason if I had known what this tour really was and had nothing to do with the market then I probably wouldn’t have scheduled it because it was very similar to what I had already done. However, the guide was great it wasn’t his fault and the couple I met on the tour were very sweet and I enjoyed them. So if you’re doing the locals food tasting tour don’t do this one also. Do one or the other. This one has more food because you get lunch.

This is totally different to any tour I've been on. The group was small, myself and two couples from The Netherlands who were travelling together. Alice the tour guide was amazing and used the small group to keep the tour informal and was really attentive and bonded with the group. It felt like going out for a casual meal and drinks with friends rather than a tour. Lots of lovely little local food and drink places and even the history parts during the walk were informal and informative. You can tell Alice is really proud of where she lives and her enthusiasm shone through, she is really a top class tour guide. An amazing tour with an amazing guide, one of the highlights of an amazing trip to beautiful Venice, would recommend whole heatedly. Thank you Alice for introducing me to your beautiful home town.
