This tour did not include the audio tour. It was only another 5€ a person. Otherwise, Doge’s Palace was stunning, it was impactful to leave the palace, to enter the prison, through the bridge of sighs, then to return and know the fate most prisoners faced on their return.

The palace is vast and overwhelming. Magnificent rooms and paintings. The only complaint I have is the amount of tour groups in some of the smaller spaces made it hard at times to move around. Some small passages that only one person at a time can pass through. Could have just been the time of day we were there maybe. We toured at our own pace and it took about an hour and fifteen mins. On a side note, I HIGHLY recommend getting on the St Marks Basilica site and buying separate tickets for the bell tower. There is a lift to get to the top and only takes about 20-30 mins for this side excursion. It will not disappoint. The views are spectacular! Right next to the palace entrance.
