Full description
Start the tour with a classic gondola ride through the lagoon city of Venice and admire the city built on stilts. After the gondola tour, enjoy some free time to explore the area before your evening tour. Later, step out and follow your guide as they introduce the surrounding area of Rialto, and learn about why it is one of the most famous markets in Europe. Discover why the Venetians have continued with this gastronomic tradition until today. During the tour, visit 2 hidden bars that are found off-the-beaten-track. Meander with the locals, embrace their culture, whilst enjoying local wines and discovering the endless selection of cicchetti on offer. Sip on a cool glass of Prosecco whilst tasting the local Baccalà, or simply taste a rich Merlot and seasonal vegetables cooked in the traditional Venetian way. This tour will introduce you to the true Venetian Aperitif and will give you the confidence to go off and discover other taverns and cicchetti for yourselves. Meet people and relax after a long day of sight-seeing. The tour concludes at the last tavern, in the Rialto area.

The gondola was a great experience, very romantic and very quiet, it was an unforgettable part of our trip to venice. The tasting tour was also great, our guide was full of goodwill and shared a lot of his experience with us. Also the cichetti were delicious, I highly recommend.

We visited 3 bars, we were entitled to 1 drink and a few typically Venetian bites. For the first time in all of our activities in Italy, French took precedence over English, even though there were more of us. Our guide was pleasant, funny and a bit of history with the activity. I recommend that you do the activity with an appetite if you really want to taste and enjoy the bites. We should have done the activity earlier to be able to benefit from the experience later.
