Full description
Get off the beaten tracks of Venice, away from the overcrowded places. The guide will escort you through the heart of Venice letting you discover the most fascinating and secret corners, rich with history such as the Rialto Area, with its typical markets, and the oldest church of Venice: The Church of San Giacometto (about 1200 A.D.). Once upon a time, merchants from all over the world came here to trade and sell their exotic goods. Go through the labyrinth of “calli” and “campi” (narrow Venetian streets and squares) in order to find some hidden architectonic places such as the marvelous “Scala Contarini del Bovolo”, a spectacular spiral staircase that belonged to one of the richest families in Venice. A few meters from there you will see the Fenix Theatre, where Giuseppe Verdi and many other great composers performed their masterpieces. Along the tour, you will also pass through the fascinating St.Mark's Square with its stunning monuments as well Doge's Palace, Basilica, and many others historic buidlings.

We ment close to St. Marc and on it went. To begin with, I have no idea about Venice history; but the guide explained in a way that even a noob like me could quickly catch up. He was really into the stories, you could tell; his excitement rubbed off. Even the weirdest questions were not a problem - he had the answer. The restaurant recommendation really pleased my taste-buds, too! Amazing tour, definite recommendation!! The 2nd part, the self-guided tour, was quite interesting, too. I listened to it on my way back to the bus so I could only get a few stops but there are so many you can access!! If u book this tour I'd recommend to take the next day off so you can fully engage in the self-guided part, it's worth spending the time. Well, anyway: Thank you, it was great!

It is gratifying that the tour was carried out with only 6 people. Perhaps it wasn't entirely clear what exactly was meant by "mystical", but it was very insightful and instructive. We have learned a lot about Venice and its history, as only a guided tour can do that is well-versed - in this case, it comes from Germany and has been living in Venice for 25 years.

We liked the guide. We expected something completely different, maybe really secret corridors or something like that. The tour guide was very competent and showed us a few corners of Venice that were not crowded with tourists but also the story behind the facades. For families with children under 12 or 13, the tour could be boring. Many thanks.
