I am so glad I booked this tour. Without the tour I don't think it's possible to see the prisons or take the walk through the Bridge of Sighs required to get there. The group had 11 people in total. Our tour guide was Marina and she was a local who had so much knowledge of the Bascillica, the Doge's Palace, the prisons and local culture. I loved hearing about the paintings from her perspective as an art history major and her perspective on the tourism of Venice (I am from a tourist industry city and have been a tour guide as well so this was of interest to me but I also asked questions in relation to these topics. I'm sure whatever questions you have she could answer!). It was really a great experience. Had I gone without a tour guide, I would not have known what I was looking at, why it mattered or any of the amazing things that had happened to it throughout the centuries. I strongly recommend!

Meeting point with the guide was easy to find . Our guide Lole was very knowledgeable and her English was very good . She has good knowledge of history and she’s a very pleasant person . She made our tour a memorable experience. The tour was easy going . Few steps to master . In St Marks cathedral no lift so for people who have difficulty in doing steps cannot go up to the second floor to enjoy the views of the Piazza however they can enjoy views of Venice from the Doges palace . Really enjoyed the Doges palace , the paintings are simply amazing and the rest of the artifacts , weapons and armory of the soldiers so impressive. Interesting walk through the prison inside the palace .Amazing experience . Would definitely recommend it!! Thanks Lole!

It was very informative and a great way to understand all the highlights of both the Basilica and the Palace. Francesca had us engaged and attentive the whole time! If it weren't for this tour we'd just be overwhelmed at looking at all the art and not really understanding the significance of the important ones.
