A great tour with sensational impressions. We had already seen St. Mark's Basilica in the morning, but the night performance is special. Roberta received us on St. Mark's Square and told very nicely about the origin and history of the cathedral as well as the mosaics and cupolas. After 30 minutes we were let into the cathedral. At first only the vestibule was illuminated. Roberta took us on a journey through the Old Testament from Genesis to the story of Moses using the mosaics. After that we went to the main church and names in the nave place - this area is not accessible during the day. The church was darkened and then illuminated piece by piece until the whole church shone in gold. A great impression. Now Roberta went with us to the crypt (usually closed) and to the Pala d'oro. There was plenty of time to see everything and Roberta had a good answer to every question. After that she explained us the mosaics (domes, floors)…
