Full description
Enjoy a walk around the Rialto Bridge area and its market to see where Venetians do their daily shopping. Afterwards, you’ll visit some typical bacari, which are small bars favored by locals. Al Volto, Al Portego, Do Spade are small places to have an aperitif or ombra, accompanied by some classical Venitian cicchetti. Venetians call a glass of wine an ombra, and cicchetti are small appetizers of fish, seafood, meat, or vegetables. It is a Venetian tradition to meet after the work to enjoy a glass of wine and an appetizer and catch up on the news of the day. Join them in this tradition during your 4-hour excursion. Explore the Castello and Cannaregio areas of Venice and find out what’s lurking in the dark. You’ll hear typical tales of the city, and listen to your guide’s stories about the ghosts and apparitions that have always fueled the Venetian imagination. These spirits are said to lurk along alleyways, in courtyards, around the squares, and on the streets you’ll come across during the tour. There are intriguing ancient legends about notable citizens and tales about Venice's commoners as well. Scary tales of more recent times will keep you alert during your walk through Venice. After the sun has set the city’s atmosphere lends itself to the supernatural, as the nuances of the evening bring even more suspense to the stories.

Pretty Fun! :)

My husband and I had a very fun time. We liked that we did the wine and food tasting before the ghost tour. The stories we heard on the ghost tour were very fun and interesting! We also learned alot of history about the city of Venice. Although the actual tour for ghosts ended 20 minutes earlier. It would have been nice to have a few more stories packed in! Although the tour guide was very kind! :)

Chiccetti bars excellent and stories in the storm memorable!

Due to it being a Tuesday, we were in fact the only two booked for the first part of the tour to the chiccetti bars. I have no doubts that with a larger crowd this twould be much better because it is all about socialising in Venice. Despite this, Elisabete made us feel welcome and took us to some excellent little chicetti bars. The second place with the wine labels on the ceiling and the excellent red wine was the best. Others joined us for the second part of the tour and the ensuing thunderstorm with forked lightning only made the stories of star crossed lovers, murderous sons and dishonest merchants unforgettable. . This tour will give you a real sense of The Venetian culture and our guide was friendly and enthusiastic. The streets of Venice get slippy when wet. Wear comfortable shoes with soles which grip!

I liked learning the history of the island from a different perspective. It was nice to have a small group and it was very personalized for the people that were here.
