Difficult to find random news stand to get tickets converted- seems like a complete waste of time in a digital age. Paper guidebook was about Venice in general I.e very little detailed specific information re Doge Palace and nothing on the other museum included with the ticket.

Our travel plans brought us to Doge’s palace on a Saturday in June, so it was a very busy day to visit. Having a reservation meant we got to stand in a shorter line rather than wait in the general admission line. Be aware that this is an option to purchase a voucher; you have to go to a separate tour kiosk about a 5 min walk away from the palace to exchange the voucher for your paper tickets. It worked fine for us, but you’ll want to get there early enough to make this exchange and walk back over to the correct line. The guide book included is a very basic Venice travel book; it’s not specific to Doge’s palace. We didn’t find it all that useful, just another item to carry around. Doge’s palace itself is definitely worth the visit. You get to walk over the Bridge of Sighs and see the prison too. If you know you’re traveling at a busy time and you want timed entry to this attraction, it’s probably worth buying this voucher.

This was a great way to skip the line last-minute. The ticket exchange point is on the other side of the plaza through the corridor that passes the Correr museum entrance, FYI, so go early to get your voucher swapped because you’ll have to walk the length of the plaza after
