Full description

Escape the crowds of Venice and take a day trip to the Dolomites, with stops at Cortina, Misurina Lake, and Auronzo Lake. See fabulous scenery and get plenty of opportunities to take epic photographs. Pass through tunnels with astonishing views of canyons and valleys, which appear as if from nowhere. The scenery in this region is quite simply some of the most breathtaking in Europe. Upon arrival in Cortina, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Dolomites,” you will have approximately 90 minutes free time to stroll around the town, and take in the picturesque views of the mountains.

Weather permitting, you will also be able to take the cable car up to Faloria, which overlooks the town of Cortina from its lofty 7,000-foot high mountain perch. Continue your trip towards Lake Misurina, taking the toll road up to outstanding peaks of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. At 7,740 feet (2,360 meters), it will reward you with yet more unforgettable views of the Dolomites. Take time to stroll around and breathe in that fresh mountain air. Alternatively, break for an optional lunch, and admire the mountain peaks and spectacular backdrop of Sorapis, and Marmarole. After lunch, drive to picturesque Lake Auronzo, passing through enchanting mountain villages as you head back towards Venice, and your final drop-off point.

Great trip to some very picturesque locations in the Dolomites. Our driver/guide Max was excellent and gave us adequate time to enjoy ourselves. it did rain in the afternoon and hence we could not see Lake Misurina in all its pristine beauty, but the first half of the day, the weather was perfect.

A fantastic tour that provided me with exactly the one day Dolomites experience I had hoped for. Simone was a superb and engaging tour guide. We made everyone feel welcome and created such a fun atmosphere that made all members of the group feel comfortable to interact with each other. I’ve been in Italy a month and this day was the best of them. Would highly recommend! Please thank Simone again and buy him an Australian parmigiana and Hawaiian pizza.

The views on this trip were amazing. A day trip to the mountains was much needed to get away from the heat and crowds in Venice! Overall though, I would not say that this day trip was worth the price. At about $170 per person, I would have expected that the chair lift tickets and lunch be included. The tour guide can make or break the trip, and my group felt a bit underwhelmed with our driver. Our driver was late picking us up, we were left sitting at the pickup location 20 minutes after the other groups left, waiting on her to arrive, with no way to contact anyone, as the tour office didn’t open until 9 am. While our driver did tell us some facts and history along the drive, she didn’t particularly seem like she enjoyed driving or sharing with us. She had headphones in the entire time. Lastly, the driving was sick-inducing (this seems to be the way Italians drive in general though, not just our driver) with constantly switching lanes, hovering between lanes, and taking fast turns.
