Full description

Escape the crowds of Venice and take a day trip to the Dolomites, with stops at Cortina, Misurina Lake, and Auronzo Lake. See fabulous scenery and get plenty of opportunities to take epic photographs. Pass through tunnels with astonishing views of canyons and valleys, which appear as if from nowhere. The scenery in this region is quite simply some of the most breathtaking in Europe. Upon arrival in Cortina, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Dolomites,” you will have approximately 90 minutes free time to stroll around the town, and take in the picturesque views of the mountains.

Weather permitting, you will also be able to take the cable car up to Faloria, which overlooks the town of Cortina from its lofty 7,000-foot high mountain perch. Continue your trip towards Lake Misurina, taking the toll road up to outstanding peaks of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. At 7,740 feet (2,360 meters), it will reward you with yet more unforgettable views of the Dolomites. Take time to stroll around and breathe in that fresh mountain air. Alternatively, break for an optional lunch, and admire the mountain peaks and spectacular backdrop of Sorapis, and Marmarole. After lunch, drive to picturesque Lake Auronzo, passing through enchanting mountain villages as you head back towards Venice, and your final drop-off point.

Of course the scenery was stunning! The driver did an excellent job and even though he was not serving as a guide, provided us with useful and interesting information when we asked. The trip is listed as 8 hours but it actually ran 10 which all in the van agreed was too long. Would encourage the provider to manage time expectations. BTW Get Your Guide provides the most detailed instructions for the meeting point which was so helpful.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, informed us of many facts about Venice we did not know. The trip to the mountains was very enjoyable, and perfect for my elderly parents to navigate with their reduced mobility. We could have done with more time in Cortina and Misurina Lake once we arrived at those locations, to really explore the area.

This was the best tour we had in Italy so far with getyourguide and would totally recommend this one for some amazing views. Our tour guide Simone was an expert and a very nice person. He stopped by at good spots for us to take pictures and we had enough time at each stop to enjoy the views. Stopping by at Misurina lake and taking the cable car to go up was the best part fo the tour. Simone was so kind to drop us at the mainland on the way back as well since we were not staying in Venice. The best part is also that group size is small and we were 8 persons. We started at 8:15am and came back by 18:00.
