Full description

Spend some time on the most famous Venetian islands, known throughout the world for their picturesque scenery, craft traditions, and unique history. See the glass factory of Murano, lace shop on Burano, as you visit 3 different islands.

Depart from near Saint Mark’s Square or Santa Lucia Train Station, and take an enjoyable trip across Saint Mark’s Basin. On the boat, a live guide will illustrate the history of the lagoon and the three islands you will visit.

Your first stop will be the island of Murano. Sometimes referred to as the “Island of the Glass,” you will visit one of its famous glass factories and see the glass being manufactured and blown. Afterward head to Torcello, the most ancient of the inhabited islands. Continue to Burano, admiring the natural environment and the minor islands spread all around you. Enjoy some free time in Burano, a typical fishing island with colorful contrasts and chocolate-box painted houses.

Look out, too, for much evidence of its renowned lace making and embroidery industry and try some of Burano’s notable homemade cakes. Please note that once on the ground, this is not a guided tour. The guide will escort you to the glass factory in Murano and the lace shop in Burano. Afterward, you will have time to explore each island on your own.

At first it might seem a bit pointless booking this tour as the water bus passes you can buy quite cheaply cover the locations on this tour meaning you can do them at your own leisure, but this tour has some commentary, a boat with plenty of room on it that’s not too crowded or hot, and you’re also not waiting in queues half a mile long for boarding. Perfect amount of time at each location and was back before evening. Beautiful scenery on the way. Overall well worth the price of not having to queue for hours and the comfort of getting a nice window seat, less hassle and much less stress than just using your standard water bus

For a few hours tour, this experience was worth the price and probably more. I didn't really care about the Torcello island, but Murano and Burano were very enjoyable. No issues with moving from one island to another because everyone in the group was good at keeping with the time.

The visit to Murano was short. We only went to the glass making factory. Whereas others online thought Murano was one of the best islands. We clearly didn’t see that side of things there. On Torcello, we didn’t enjoy that visit at all. Others might be if interested in history. Burano was our absolute favourite. We were hungry when we landed, after an early start and the other island visits, and got ‘okay’ food at the first restaurant we came across. We had a quick look at the town and were about to rush back to the boat. We discovered how much more there was to see so told the organiser we were going to stay. One hour wasn’t enough there. We stayed for 3 more hours. Definitely go there on a separate trip. It’s beautiful with so much to explore!! Enjoy
