  • Discover three of the most beautiful and famous Venetian islands
  • Admire the colorful houses of Burano
  • Visit a glass factory in Murano
Full description

Discover the most charming and famous islands of the Venetian Lagoon on this full-day excursion. Marvel at the beautiful surroundings of Venice and learn more about Venetian life and traditions.

Start your journey in a comfortable motorboat leaving from the St. Mark's area, and move toward your first stop, the island of Murano. Stay for approximately 1.5 hours on the island and take your time to explore it on your own.

Visit a glass factory and learn how glass masters create their masterpieces with a glass-blowing demonstration. Don't miss the massive Basilica of Santi Maria e Donato, one of the oldest Churches in the Venetian lagoon originally built in the 7th Century.

Return to the motorboat and head to Burano Island. Immerse yourself in its quaint and colorful houses for around 1.5 hours. According to a local legend, Burano gets its rainbow appearance from the fishermen who painted their houses in bright colors to find their way home when returning from sea.

The island is also known internationally for its rare artisan lace. Hop back on the motorboat, and ride to the last stop, Torcello, the first settlement in the Venetian Lagoon. During your 1-hour unguided stop, be sure to visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in 639.

Take a selfie with Attila's Throne in the background, an ancient stone chair where chief magistrates were inaugurated, or go up the Bell Tower and take a beautiful picture of the surrounding area. At the end of the tour, ride back to the point of departure.

We really enjoyed Murano and had a lovely lunch in Burano. Both had very picturesque canals with artisan shops. Torcello was disappointing. There was really nothing to see unless you wanted to go in the museum. However everything was really well organised. I would recommend a two-island tour in the winter and just do Murano and Burano.

Arriving at 10:30am to the meetup spot which was easy to find. Very friendly service. Instructed to wait to be called to the board at 10:45am. Fairly busy. You have to walk to get to the boat. This trip is definitely not for those with any mobility issues. There are outside and inside seating with tables. You can take your own food and drinks. Boarding was swift as was departure. The islands are lovely to visit. Murano has a nice coffee shop on the Waterside to the right. You can enjoy wine or coffee in this quiet place. very serene up to Venice. Burano is beautiful. Torcello is interesting. Its good value. The trip feels quite fast but that was okay for us, wanting to see a few places in a short space of time.

Great day out and a welcome relief from the crowds in Venice. We loved Burano, could have spent much longer there - taking a sandwich was good advice from another reviewer, we sat in the sun watching the boats coming and going, before visiting the town, enjoying the beauty of the houses along the canals and finding a friendly café for coffee. Time on Torcello was a bit limited, the bell tower was a good recommendation and we had it to ourselves. Too little time to do justice to the other interesting history. Murano was our least favourite, the glass demo was interesting but the shop wasn't for us. It was difficult to 'escape' it and see the town. We waited a while as the previous group over-ran, which ate into our time. No problems otherwise and the guide walked the group from the meeting point to the boat, which was helpful. Commentary was multi lingual and informative. In all, good value and enjoyable
