Taste some of the best wines in Georgia during this full-day visit to the Kakheti wine region around Tbilisi. On your visit, learn about the traditional Georgian method of making wine in clay vessels and taste the wines at several wineries. Stop in the ancient town of Sighnaghi surrounded by an impressive wall and backed by the Caucasus Mountains. A traditional Georgian lunch in a family-owned winery completes this full-day experience. This tour will start and finish in Tbilisi, and will take you on a journey through the wineries of the Kakheti region. Visit Sighani, the town of love and take in the Caucasus Mountains and the Alazani Valley. Then enjoy wine tasting at Okro's boutique winery, where you will try wine as well as Chacha (Georgian grape vodka). Next, enjoy lunch at an authentic family wine cellar in Velistsikhe, accompanied with homemade wines, of course. After lunch, head to the Khareba winery, which is built into a Soviet-era bomb shelter near the town of Kvareli, for more wine-tasting.

Our driver and guide both were named Georgi . Our guide was fantastic and very friendly. Customised our tour and meals and gave a lot of local knowledge as well. The food (specially made vegetarian for us) and drinks we had on the tour were incredibly fresh and tasty. Only one thing, if a single person could have been both driver and guide it would have freed up the front seat of the car which would have had the best views. Since driver and guide were two separate people, we felt a bit cramped with 3 people at the back.

We had an awesome day. Our guide Otto was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The traditional Georgian lunch was a lovely experience and broke up the wine tasting perfectly.

All very well. Tsotne is very friendly, he is passionate about wine. The excursion was pleasant and there was no rush (taking your time), interesting with contact with locals.

It was amazing. The wine tastings was at places I did not realize existed and it was delicious. I saw more of Georgian culture and I was very pleased.
