Wonderful experience to visit the Vatican museums and especially the Sistine Chapel pre booking of passes is a must as the cues were up to 3 hours long without having pre -booked in advance ! 35 degrees in Rome when we visited ! Highly recommend booking with Get that Guide .

Great experience and it was nice to see all of the beautiful treasures collected by the Vatican. Rome was very busy so finding the correct place was actually more difficult as there were numerous queues, but it all worked out with a little bit of questioning and some extra time planned ahead.

Peek at the Cabinet of the Masks, or tour the Sala degli Animali to see a virtual menagerie of fantastic beasts, real and imagined. Walk the Upper Galleries, including the Gallery of Maps, to see how cartographers depicted the world through the ages.
See masterpieces by Renaissance masters in the Raphael Rooms, and rest for a while in the Borgia Apartments. Then, it’s time to marvel at Michelangelo’s exquisite Sistine Chapel, the crown jewel of the Vatican, and perhaps even of all the world’s art treasures.

Go directly to the Vatican Museum entrance on Vatican Museums, 00120 Città del Vaticano (Viale Vaticano) and show your ticket (paper and mobile voucher are accepted) to the security guards at the entrance, then scan your ticket at the box office CASSA ONLINE E GRUPPI after the security check. Please do not arrive outside your assigned time slot.

Know before you go

  • On June 2nd 2025 Sistine Chapel will not be open and visitable - the rest of the Museums are regularly open.
  • Tickets are valid for the date and time slot chosen. Please do not arrive outside your assigned time slot
  • All visitors must pass through airport-style security. During high season the wait at security may in excess of 30 minutes
  • Youth tickets are available for those between the ages of 7-18 (inclusive) with a valid ID card
  • The opening hours are subject to change due to special events at the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St Peter's Basilica
  • Children under 7 years old go free of charge with a valid ID
  • Those with a disability and their carer or companion go free of charge with a certificate of disability, which you must present at the Special Permits and/or the Reception desk in the hall of the museum
  • June, July and August are particularly busy as they are high-season months

Hard to describe the incredible treasures on display. The reaches are beyond words. All of it. The statues, maps, tapestries, paintongs, the rooms and halls themselves. Allow at least 4 hours or more. The bads- huge crouds and poor options at the food court.
