Full description

Take a stirring journey through art and religious history with skip-the-ticket-line entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Avoid the long ticket lines and then enjoy your visit at your own pace.  Wander through the Greek Cross Gallery to see elaborately-carved sarcophagi that might just contain the earthly remains of some of antiquity's famous kings and queens.

Peek at the Cabinet of the Masks, or tour the Sala degli Animali to see a virtual menagerie of fantastic beasts, real and imagined. Walk the Upper Galleries, including the Gallery of Maps, to see how cartographers depicted the world through the ages.

See masterpieces by Renaissance masters in the Raphael Rooms, and rest for a while in the Borgia Apartments. Then, it’s time to marvel at Michelangelo’s exquisite Sistine Chapel, the crown jewel of the Vatican, and perhaps even of all the world’s art treasures.

There was no wait with the ticket. We just went past everyone and went right in. But we didn’t need our passports either. Not sure why. The Vatican is like the ikea of museums. You go from room to room wondering when you will get to the Sistine chapel. And just when you think you are almost there, you find only more rooms of exhibits. All the exhibits are truly incredible. But the place is pretty crowded especially in some parts and it gets tiring so by the middle you kinda just want to get to the Sistine chapel and leave passing by other incredible treasures.

I would recommend this activity for anyone. For start you get the skip the massive line of people without tickets. Getting in is smooth and the directions are great and on point and picking up the audio guide is easy and no queue. The access is great and could spend the whole day at the Vatican. A few negatives were nowhere did it say that it wasn’t good for strollers, we took our 14 month son and going up and down all the stairs was a nightmare for not only us but for other family’s, there was no lift either. The next one is more of a notice for the activity. The main attraction is the Sistine chapel. The hoards of people heading this same way was mad mixed with lots of tours stopping and making getting through doors and rooms difficult. When there it’s so amazing but the journey to the chapel was like nothing I’ve experienced before. The activity is great value for money and we were able to go about at our own leisure. Great experience.

I would definitely recommend pre-booking tickets to avoid the massive queue outside! We went end of May & were straight in & through security in no time. There were a lot of tours going round the museum - I was glad we just booked tickets & had the freedom to look round independently. It’s a spectacular place - a must-see experience when visiting Rome.
