Full description

Take a stirring journey through art and religious history with skip-the-ticket-line entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Avoid the long ticket lines and then enjoy your visit at your own pace.  Wander through the Greek Cross Gallery to see elaborately-carved sarcophagi that might just contain the earthly remains of some of antiquity's famous kings and queens.

Peek at the Cabinet of the Masks, or tour the Sala degli Animali to see a virtual menagerie of fantastic beasts, real and imagined. Walk the Upper Galleries, including the Gallery of Maps, to see how cartographers depicted the world through the ages.

See masterpieces by Renaissance masters in the Raphael Rooms, and rest for a while in the Borgia Apartments. Then, it’s time to marvel at Michelangelo’s exquisite Sistine Chapel, the crown jewel of the Vatican, and perhaps even of all the world’s art treasures.

Very confusing to find, we went to the St Peter’s Basillica thinking it was the way in! But GetMyGuide were great in helping us find the way and assuring our tickets would still be valid if we were late. Use the directions option on the app - I found this too late but it was brilliant!

Even during what should be ‘off season’, the Vatican museums were akin to a cattle market. The walk down to the sistine chapel was a river of people. However, you were still able to view the exhibit without too much bother. You are required to keep the noise down and shoulders covered inside the chapel. All said, I’m glad we got to see it for ourselves.

We landed in Rome hours before we booked this. We couldn’t find a walking tour that suited young and vibrant people who would stay connected this tour was so informative and enjoyable but also helped us explore hidden gems. I recommended to anyone coming to Rome for the first time to do this it haves is the lay out of Rome and brought is all a lot closer.
