The knowledge of the guide and in spite of his mobility issues he worked very hard to get us through to the Sistine Chapel before the doors closed. It was disappointing to observe a Vatican security officer refusing to give your guide access to the shorter route after watching him climb the stairs, he made your guide take our group the long route and when we returned to the same spot the flood gates were opened as access had been granted to all other tours following us which meant our experience was somewhat diminished.
