Very enjoyable and educational tour with very nice guide. We had a total private tour that was worth the cost, no doubt. This was once in a lifetime experience and we recommend this guide. The only thing that shadowd the experience was the attempt to try to selling us the aroma therapy oils, we did not come for that and you should simply tell the guide to skip it but absolutely take the walk through the narrow streets in the old town.

The ceremony was amazing; we spent time looking at it from the boat in river Ganges. Before that and after the ceremony our guide took us through the town in a tuk-tuk; it was a very special experience that you cannot get while being in a car.

Full description

Start your journey through Varanasi with hotel pickup and travel to Dasaswamedh Ghat. Here, board the boat for a tour of the Ganges river. During the 1-hour boat ride, experience the beautiful sunset as you and watch traditional ceremonies taking place on the riverbank, performed by Hindu priests and devotees. Observes the traditional cremation ceremony at Manikarnika Ghat, where the human body is brought to its final rest. Later, walk through the narrow lanes of Varanasi as your guide shares stories of the city's culture and history. After this, finish your tour with drop off back at your hotel.

This tour enabled us to gain an insight into the real Varanasi. Our private tour which comprised a boat ride on the Ganges, experiencing the Aarti and a walking tour through the narrow traditional alleyways was expertly guided by Hemant Srivastava.
