What people are saying about Van Gogh Museum

Overall rating

4.6
(23,656 reviews)

We had a wonderful morning wandering through the Van Gogh museum. With the museums website down for ticket sales when we visited, this was the ideal way to get entrance. The museum often sells out so getting tickets in advance is a must. With our tickets, entrance was seamless and easy. The museum itself is also a must see. My partner isn’t a big fan of art but even he really enjoyed it. We also highly recommend the temporary exhibit with Matthew Wong and its audio tour. If you happen to visit while that’s on, don’t skip it! It was a highlight in and of itself, which is saying a lot because Van Gogh’s art is no ordinary thing either!

We had a super friendly humorous boat captain. The combination of audio facts and the captain's input made the canal cruise more interesting. The boat was clean and spacious. We got there earlier than our time slot but the Blue Boat Company were happy to switch our time to an earlier slot. The canals we cruised on had lots of interesting buildings along them and the views around were very scenic. All in all this canal cruise made my weekend trip to Amsterdam very memorable.

The tour was splendid! The guide took us on a journey into Van Gogh's world by engaging us and explaining everything in great detail. This was not just an explanation of paintings but much more! A true immersion in art! Too bad about the length of the visit (1 h), I would have made it last longer! Super recommended!

Enjoyed the visit. Beautiful museum with less known Van Gogh paintings and artwork by his peers.

We learned so much about Van Gogh and saw some incredible paintings
