Moab: 3-Day Canyonlands National Park Hiking & Camping Tour

Moab: 3-Day Canyonlands National Park Hiking & Camping Tour

We begin our journey with a trip to one of the largest collections of petroglyph you can see in Utah. The vertical Wingate sandstone cliffs enclose this upper Indian Creek area as we make our way to the entrance of the Needles. Guides air down the tires before we start one of the most difficult 4-wheel-drive trails in Southeastern Utah. The right vehicle and our experience shine as we tackle the notorious 4wd obstacles in Canyonlands National Park. Each evening brings us to a remote camp. Picturesque towers of red and white Cedar Mesa sandstone set the background as guides busy themselves cooking creative meals. Hikers will want to do a number of essential hikes. Hikes are optional, and trip itineraries are tailored to the expectations of each group. You'll sleep under one of the darkest, star-filled skies visible anywhere in the U.S. (Mag 6.8) Bring your binoculars and enjoy some great star gazing. It's comforting to know that such places still exist. We wake up to the sun lighting the tops of the Needles and another day of adventure. The Needles area is a backcountry of must see highlights, including a hike to stately Chesler Park. This large flat meadow is surrounded on all sides by Needles. Getting to Chesler Park is filled with excitement as we follow a narrow ravine called the Joint Trail. On our last day, we'll see the confluence of the Green and Colorado Rivers, plus many more excellent short hikes. Our route home takes us over SOB Hill down the Devil's Lane and over Elephant Hill, a true test of our 4X4 rig and skill.
