I attended this tour on Saturday, 9th December 2023 and everything was wonderful. We met the guide, Marisa, and she was a complete pleasure - so entertaining and knowledgeable about Maltese history, culture and especially, food. The morning started with pastries in a little cafe beside the Parliament building and, despite a bit of rain and wind, we were all sat comfortably under a shelter and protected from the rain. The weather soon cleared up and the tour covered a few other places where we sampled other typical Maltese food, including Maltese coffee which was a bit unusual, but good. After more places of interest, the tour ended with a lunch at the beautiful restaurant on the top of the Central Food Market where I ate something I have never eaten before. I'll leave that for other tourists to experience for themselves. Overall, a brilliant tour. Don't miss this experience. A great way to spend a few hours in Valletta.

Great tour - our guide did a wonderful job connecting the history around the foods we ate. I had never done a morning food tour, but this worked well. I did not leave completely stuffed, so I do wish we had opportunities for additional food, but really enjoyed the info we got

We were met bang on time by the lovely Marisa, who is clearly passionate about food, and the tour was set up to mimic what a typical day’s food would be for the Maltese, only we did it in half a day, so reduced the portion sizes ! We started with delicious pasticcis filled with curried peas, then went on to have a fantastic “sandwich” with delicious Maltese bread, and finally a three course meal consisting of a “platter” of smoked sausage, olives very garlicky mashed beans and other nibbles. The main course was a choice of two typical Maltese dishes (I won’t give details, as it will be a “spoiler”), and then a desert of a pastry with local dates inside. Marisa was absolutely superb in explaining the foods, local history and offering recommendations of restaurants to visit virtually anywhere on the island ! I 100% recommend this trip, and would advise you do it at the start of your holiday, as the information and recommendations proved invaluable !
