Full description

This cruise has the simple aim of giving you the maximum amount of time to enjoy swimming and snorkelling in the crystal clear waters of Comino's Blue Lagoon. When you want to relax, snacks, beverages and air-conditioning are available aboard the boat, or get some air on the upper deck. The boat leaves the Sliema ferry dock at 10:30 AM and returns at 6:30 PM, which gives you 7 hours to enjoy the sun and sea however you want. Savor a light sandwich lunch. The boat also leaves the from Bugibba Jetty at 11:30 AM and returns at 5:30 PM. The Blue Lagoon, between the small island of Comino and smaller islet of Cominotto, is a basin of clear, turquoise water with a white sandy bottom and abundant marine life. It's great for swimming and photos, but even better for snorkelling. Equipment is available onboard.

We started off in Sliema where the boat departed from, made our way to Bugibba, passing by the east coast of Malta, with the staff giving some interesting facts about certain buildings we saw. From Bugibba we then made our way to Gozo where Majority of people got off to do a 3 hours tour, while a small group of us, made our way to Comino, specifically Blue Lagoon, the height of the day. Throughout the whole day the staff was friendly, helpful and informative.

The blue lagoon was awesome; the boat ride was nice; the food and drinks were definitely good enough. The one bad thing I have to say is the length of the boat ride; they combine multiple tours onto the same boat, so we stopped in St Paul’s Bay, dropped people off in Gozo, and THEN went to the lagoon. On the way back we also stopped at the Bay again. So, we left at 1030 and didn’t get to the lagoon until 1245; it took 2hrs + 15 minutes to get there. We then left at 1615 and didn’t get back to Sliema until after 1800. So we spent 3.5hrs at the lagoon, but spent 4hrs on the boat.

We really enjoyed the trip, the crew were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We arrived early to ensure we were able to purchase the day pass for an upper deck lounge chair. The chairs were 10.00 Euros for the day (each) and well worth the money. We stayed on Comino all day. Bring extra towels or large ones, extra clothes for the trip back in the evening as it gets cool up top. You are able to leave your items on the boat while you’re on the island (they aren’t responsible for lost or stolen items) but we didn’t have any issues leaving some things on the top deck.
