10. Valencia Bike Tour
Discover Valencia's streets, squares, monuments and most important historical sites the fun way. Feel the warm sea breeze on your face as you pedal through old and new Valencia and its gardens. Start your tour of Valencia by pedaling downhill to the unique Turia Gardens. Created in a former riverbed, Valencia's garden park stretches for 13 km (8 miles), and winds through the city. The Gardens host a variety of cultural and recreational activities throughout the year. Pedal past the Serranos Towers, a small castle which used to be the former main entrance of the medieval walled city.
You will also encounter some of the most important historical buildings in this Spanish city such as the Mercado de Colón, Gardens of the Old Hospital, Pillar Square, and the Quart Towers. You will also pass the old University, the Patriarca Church and the Glorieta Gardens.
The tour continues along the former riverbed passing by the Music Hall until you reach the City of Arts & Sciences, the new landmark of Valencia, known for its futuristic white architecture designed by world-acclaimed architect Santiago Calatrava. From here you will head back to the starting point following the riverbed crossing many historic and modern bridges as well as cycling past the Fine Arts Museum.
