Our bus operator was great and definitely tried to make up for the fact we had no tour guide. I feel like we could have done pretty much the same thing and driven out there in our own car for much less especially since we had no tour guide which we paid for. I felt some sort of refund/discount should have been given because of this. The plantation was ok. Is what it is. The line of oak trees was impressive due to their age. If those trees could talk I could only imagine the stories they would have to tell. I would have liked to have time to eat in the restaurant instead of just grabbing a cold sandwich in the Cafe. We couldn't do this because the plantation tour through the house was at a set time. Had we been able to go directly to the house upon arriving we probably could have worked in eating at the restaurant.

the tour started with Alton. he was our driver/tour guide all the way to the plantation. he was very informative. he gave a crash course about new Orleans. it was awesome! bring some cash so that you can tip your driver. now the plantation is beautiful! the grounds are well manicured and full of history.

the guide was great and knowledgeable. one thing for I provident is to allow at LEAST 3 hours to explore the grounds. 2 hours was far too little time to see the plantation and take the time to immerse in the history. it felt like we had to skim all of the placards and barely look at the artifacts.
