V&A Waterfront: Tours & Tickets

I remember the dreadful days of apartheid and reading about the sentences given to brave people who fought for basic civil rights in their own homeland. I’m proud that an Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke, was instrumental in the embargoes that helped finally break this hideous regime. Mandela was but one of the heroic souls who endured and the wives and children knew tremendous suffering too. A sobering, saddening but ultimately inspiring experience.

Tour combined a boat trip from Cape Town with a bus tour of the island and a foot tour of the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for most of his life. The prison tour led by a former political prisoner. The tour is a must for all believers in personal liberty and democracy. It gives an insight into the life of the man who gave up so much for the freedom of his people, and did so much to bring his country together.

I wanted to surprise my boyfriend for our anniversary in CPT and I got the cruise with the dinner at CityGrill. The cruise was magnificent, the view, the environment, the staff, everything was perfect!! We even saw a whale!!!! And the dinner was awesome, the 3 courses were to be chosen from a limited menu, EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! Thanks

Absolutely fantastic trip. Booked a pickup which occurred on time, taken by a very courteous driver down to the boat on the quay. Fabulous trip, we saw african penguins, dusky dolphins and three Brydes whales in the bay. Lovely guy in charge of the boat who clearly knew what he was doing. Highly recommend.

Pick up directions unclear, said pick up at 11:15. We waited until 11:35 and the Ubered to the port. Driver called us at 11:40 and said he was at our hotel and that the pick Up time was 11:15 to 11:45. Very confusing. But eventually straightened out and didn’t harm the overall experience.
