Head into Uyuni Salt Flats

    Begin your tour at the Train Cemetery, where you’ll see abandoned wagons from the Bolivian Railway Company. Then, head to Colchani village to learn about salt production and browse local handicraft shops.

    As you enter the Uyuni Salt Flats, witness underground river aquifers and visit Flags Square, the Dakar Monument, and the world’s first salt hotel. Enjoy lunch and take unique panoramic, perspective, and mirror reflection photos.

    Move on to Incahuasi Island and arrive at your hostel

  • The first night will be spent in a basic salt lodge, with shared bathrooms and showers (subject to availability).
  • The second night will be in a basic family lodge, with shared dormitories for 5 to 6 people, and shared bathrooms and showers (subject to availability).

The conditions at the Uyuni Salt Flats were not perfect due to the depth of the water, but the sunset was spectacular. The drive was long and the roads were rough, but the views were worth it. Also, the option to go through to Chile made the trip easier.
